Saturday, Lahaina's historic Banyan Tree is lit up with thousands of Christmas lights for the entire holiday season. Santa Claus makes an appearance, island-style, and community choirs sing Christmas carols. Kids are invited to play in real snow at the "snow zone" and families can take photos with a Hawaiian snowman. Enjoy a holiday arts and crafts fair along with Hawaiian musical entertainment. Maui OnStage and Maui Academy of Performing Arts present the heartwarming musical Annie. Performances run Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from November 27 to December 13 at the Historic Iao Theater in Wailuku. The hotel’s Partners with Nature program will take guests into Maunalei Arboretum to help preserve native Hawaiian flora by removing invasive species of plants. Guests will beautify strategically chosen locations along the trail while accompanying naturalists share their knowledge of Hawaii’s rich natural and cultural history. These service trips are led by the hotel's naturalists, with net proceeds going to support the efforts of Mālama Kahalawai, Inc., a 501-c-3 organization dedicated to the conservation of the West Maui Mountain's pristine watershed areas.
